I noticed that a couple of Richard Herrin's (of DeKalb Co., TN) children married Mainors (Maynards come from Wake Co., NC).
I also noticed that old Jefferson Herrin's (Shadrack's son) second wife was Nancy Elizabeth Mainer, d/o Malvin Mainer and Nancy Lawson (Pope Co., IL). Checking the census I found that Malvin's name was really Moses Mainor and that he was in 1840 DeKalb Co., TN. He was enumerated 1 page away from Richard and Gabriel Herrin and his likely father, John Maner, was 9 households from Richard Herrin.
It appears that old Jefferson married a relative, and this ties Richard Herrin and Shadrack Herrin in more tightly as brothers, seeing that they were both in 1790 Rowan Co., NC. Perhaps with Daniel Herren as well.
Wiseman's lived in between the Mainors and Herrins in Dekalb Co., TN and Richard had a son, Wiseman Herrin. Wiseman's were from Rowan Co., NC. What do you want to bet that Richard's first wife was a Wiseman?

Most of my research is from Richard back in time. However, I would look for the name "Lodusky" as alst name in your line. The reason I say that is that some had Sarah Herrin's maiden name (the one who married Benjamin Stogsdill in 1802 Pulaski Co., KY) as Lodusky. I believe it was Motley, but that still leaves some Herrin who may have married a Lodusky... perhaps Richard's 1st wife. Also, I have never seen a document that refers to Richard as "Dickie". Any help there?

Since Johnny (this web site) shares 37 of 37 DNA Markers with me, I would pretty well say that Richard Herrin was the one of 1790 Rowan Co., NC listed as Richard Harron. Furthrmore, Rutherford B. Herrin of Jackson Co., TN also shares the same DNA. He was the son of Stephen Herrin and Sarah Condor, if memory serves me right. Perhaps, Stephen was another brother? Any help you have will certainly be appreciated.

I am a descendant of Richard "Dickie" Herren through his daughter, Angeline Herren. Apparently, Angeline had a son, Robert Herren, b. 1831 & was not married.
Robert married Mary Ann Whitefield 24 May 1849, White Co., TN and they had 7 children. I descend through their son, Thomas Logan Herren, b. 30 Apr 1859 (my g-g-grandfather). Thomas Logan married first, Louisa Darliska Thomas & he married second, Harriet Permelia Thomas, half-sister to Louisa Darliska. My line - Thomas Logan & Louisa Darliska's daughter, Lodusky Angeline Herren, b. 10 Mar 1880, married Lee Roy Monroe Allison (my g-grandparents).
I do have some info on the Herren Family but not a lot. I will share any info I have & would appreciate any help that I can get on this family.
