Lucy Jane Herrin - David Wisdom - Jul 25, 2010[Print]
I know that Lucy Jane married a Henry Gaddis and that they had several children and that shemoved to Greene County, Indiana some time after Henry's death. Is she some relation to the Daniel and Shadrack Herrrin that you talked about in some of the post on this site. I am a descendant of Lucy Jane's son Amos Gaddis and I am looking for some info on her and her family. Thanks! David

Oops! Not Luch Camp, but Lucy Camp.

Lucy Jane is of the Dennis Herrin line of Lincioln Co., KY. At the moment I don't have her parenatge, but Dennis married Luch Camp, d/o Thomas Camp/Kemp and Winnifred Starling. Dennis was in early Southampton County, Virginia as Dennis Herne with transactions placing his birth about 1731. He came to Orange Co., NC and was a Regulator there in 1776 as Dennis Hern. When he came to Lincoln Co., KY his land was in the name of Hern. Most census show his name as Herrin and his son, Washington was a Herring. He was no KNOWN relative of my Shadrack Line and had no known transactions. However, some of Shadrack's line also got married in Lincoln Co., KY. Just goes to show that spellings mean littlle.
